Guwahati, February 10, 2019:

Saraswati Puja was observed with much pomp and splendor by people of the state of Assam, yet a hint of gloom marred the celebrations due to the threat of the Citizenship (Amendment) Bill 2016. Students of Cotton University, who have been most vocal against the Bill, used the occasion of Saraswati Puja to spread a message of awareness against the Bill.

The students of the college also expressed dismay over Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s firm stance on the Bill.

The students of RCC 2 Boys' Hall hostel of Gauhati University also held a similar protest.
