Students of Nagaland’s Mokokchung Take to Streets with 'Flash Mob' to Celebrate 150th Gandhi Jayanti

Mokokchung, October 2, 2019:

Streets of Mokokchung witnessed a groovy tribute to the Father of the Nation on the occasion of the 150th Gandhi Jayanti.

On Tuesday, the students of Gandhi Ashram took to the streets with Flash Mob in Nagaland’s Mokokchung district. They were seen paying tribute to Mahatma Gandhi in their unique style.

Small kids also took active participation in the event. As many as 150 kids, dressed up as the Mahatma, took out a procession out in the streets.

The flash mob happened in Mokokchung a day ahead of Gandhi Jayanti. Apart from a clean-up drive in the premises, the Gandhi Ashram students took to the streets and surprised every passerby.

On the occasion of Bapu’s birth anniversary, the entire nation has taken the pledge of making India a cleaner country. Massive cleanliness drives have been organized across different states.

While locals and leaders have initiated clean-up drives in their localities, small children are doing their bit to contribute to the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan.

Government of India’s Swachh Bharat Abhiyan or Clean India Mission is a significant step towards achieving Gandhi’s dream of a clean nation.

Leaders of the country have paid tribute to the Father of the Nation. Prime Minister Narendra Modi led the nation by paying tribute to the Mahatma at Raj Ghat, where an all-faith prayer meeting was held this morning.

A large number of events have been scheduled across India to mark Gandhi’s 150th birth anniversary.
