The Supreme Court on Wednesday has ordered a CBI investigation into Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput's death case. The decision was made after hearing actor Rhea Chakraborty's petition seeking transfer of investigation in the Sushant Singh Rajput case from Bihar Police to Mumbai Police.

The Apex Court on Wednesday rejected Rhea’s plea and informed that the Bihar government was competent to give consent to CBI for probing into the Patna FIR.

The decision was made by A single-judge bench of Justice Hrishikesh Roy. The bench made it clear that it was a court-ordered CBI investigation and that the Maharashtra government cannot challenge this decision. It also clarified that registration of the FIR at Patna was legally valid and adhered to the principles of the Criminal Procedure Code.

Actor Sushant Singh Rajput was found dead in his Mumbai apartment on June 14.
The Mumbai Police declared it as a suicide and has been investigating allegations that he was suffering from depression and had felt slighted by film industry insiders and cliques.

The Bihar Police complaint led to investigations by the CBI and Enforcement Directorate into the actor's financial status and his father's complaint that crores were taken out of his account.
