NEW DELHI: The Supreme Court of India today decided to list a fresh public interest litigation (PIL) demanding a probe into the Rafale deal, to which the SC has given clean-shit in 2018, after the reports of alleged bribery came to light, given by Dassault Aviation to an Indian middleman, in a French news portal.

The petition was filed by advocate Manohar Lal Sharma before the Chief Justice of India SA Bobde today.

In a response, CJI Bobde said that the PIL would be listed after two weeks as per rules.

Sharma's new petition seeks the court to declare the deal to buy 36 fighter jets from Dassault Aviation, a French corporation, as an "outcome of corruption and breach of Articles 13, 21 and 253 of the Indian Constitution."

Sharma also pleaded in front of the apex court to start a probe into the matter by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).

Earlier in 2018, Sharma had filed a petition seeking a probe into the matter as well but it was dismissed by the then CJI Ranjan Gogoi.
