Guwahati: Three youths from Assam were apprehended in Nagaland's Mon district while they were allegedly heading to join the banned militant outfit, United Liberation Front of Asom-Independent (ULFA-I).

The three persons were apprehended by the Assam Rifles based on a specific input about them heading to the ULFA-I camp in Myanmar through the bordering area.

As per reports, they have been identified as Himanta Neog, Bikash Deka, and Arindom Bora.

The Assam Rifles interrogated them at their camp and then after having sufficient evidence to believe the input about them joining the outfit to be true, handed them to the Assam Police for further actions. The Assam Police is yet to make an official statement in connection with the case.
