TikTok celebrity shot dead in New Delhi

New Delhi, May 22, 2019:

In a grim incident, a TikTok celebrity was shot dead in national capital New Delhi on Tuesday. The celebrity in question, 24-year-old Mohit Mor, had a following in excess of 5 lakhs on social media platform and would often share fitness-themed videos on TikTok as well as Instagram.

As per reports, Mor was visiting a friend at a photocopy shop near his gym inSouth West Delhi's Najafgarh locality when he was gunned down by three assailants.

The celebrity was sitting on a sofa when three men, who had come on a motorbike, barged into the shop and pumped multiple bullets into him. Mor was immediately taken to a hospital where he was declared dead on arrival.

It may be mentioned that originally hailing from Bahadurgarh in Haryana, Mohit worked as a gym trainer in Najafgarh. In his TikTok videos, Mohit touched on subjects such as communal harmony, loss of parents and good samaritanism. He also enacted famous Bollywood scenes.

The gunmen were captured on CCTV camera while leaving the scene of the crime. Although two of the attackers' faces were covered with helmets, while one of them could clearly be seen in the CCTV footage.

A senior police officer has said that the police are checking his Tik Tok and Instagram accounts and the comments and Call Details Record (CDR) to establish his enmity with anyone on social media that may help them to crack the case.

At the moment, it is being assumed to be a case of personal enmity born out of money dispute.

Police has registered a case under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code and a probe has been initiated.

It may be mentioned that gang violence had also been reported near South Delhi's Dwarka Mor police station recently as two criminals were killed in a shootout on Sunday.
