TIPRA Chief Pradyot Manikya condemns attack on religious minorities in Bangladesh

TIPRA Chief Pradyot Manikya on Wednesday said that such attacks are attempts to destablise the social & cultural fabric of the country.

AGARTALA: Reacting to the recent attacks on religious minorities in Bangladesh, TIPRA Chief Pradyot Manikya on Wednesday said that such attacks are attempts to destablise the social & cultural fabric of the country.

Taking to twitter, the Royal Scion wrote, "The attacks on minorities in Bangladesh is clearly an attempt to destabilise the social,cultural fabric of the country and the region".

The TIPRA Chied further anticipated that the Bangladesh Prime Minister shall call for necessary and fat track action against fringe elements.

"I am sure that the Hon PM Sheikh Hasina will take action against fringe elements in her country She is one of the few friends of India has in the SAARC and we mustn’t forget this, he wrote further.

The royal scion went on to say that 'religious intolerance' is the biggest threat we have in our country and urged to 'not allow fringe elements to take any advantage.'

A series of attacks on the Hindu minority took place in the neighbouring country between October 12 and October 17. Reportedly the series of attacks took place after alleged disrespect of the Quran at a Puja Pandal.

The All Assam Minorities Student’s Students’ Union (AAMSU) on Wednesday has staged a protest on the against those behind attacks.
