Guwahati, February 17, 2019:

The Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT) has organized a nationwide ‘Bharat Trade Bandh’ to show solidarity with the families of the CRPF jawans martyred during the deadly terror attack in Pulwama, Jammu & Kashmir. The traders' organization will hold a protest and has reached out to all states to join them in this nationwide strike and all business institutions will be closed down.

The CAIT has stated that the no business activity will be held on that day due to the “strong sense of anger” that has grown among traders and citizens due to the dastardly terror attack. Yesterday, most of the business institutions were closed in Guwahati’s Fancy Bazar as well as in various parts of the country as a mark of protest against the terror attack.

The attack on a CRPF convoy in Jammu & Kashmir’s Pulwama district martyred more than 40 jawans on February 14th, 2019 and it is the biggest terror attack in the past five years. A bomber belonging to the outfit Jaish-e-Mohammed, identified as Adil Ahmed Dar, rammed an SUV laden with over 250 kg of explosives into a CRPF bus carrying about 40 personnel.
