Sarkar also said that Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Deb and Governor Ramesh Baisa “completely failed to control violence and attacks on opposition leaders and supporters across the state.”

Sarkar had branded it as a 'Gunda raj' by ruling BJP in the state and accused the police of protecting the "ruling party criminals."

On the other hand, TIPRA chief Pradyot Manikya visited Subol Sing para in the Hezamara area where houses were allegedly damaged by his party members and gave the affected people a financial assistance of Rs 1,00,000 from his personal coffers.

"We need to change this culture of political violence which we have inherited from the left," said Manikya.
