Tripura: 86.86% parents voted against board exam; Govt to give final decision

AGARTALA: A whooping amount of 86.86 per cent of parents have voted against the Tripura Board of Secondary Education (TBSE) from conduction in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic.

As many as 46,768 people have voted in the whole process and 13.14 per cent of them voted in favour of conducting the examinations as well.

Hence, out of 46,768 votes, 40,623 people do not want the examination to take place and 6,145 people are in favour of the examination as per data released by the education department of the state.

Tripura Government has stated earlier this month that they will be asking for parents opinion on this regard as "the role of parents is very important in making such big decisions for the future of the students,” said education minister Ratan Lal Nath.

Voting for this process happened in both online and offline mode.

As many as 21,976 people cast their vote online, out of which 18,295 people voted against the examination and 3,681 voted in favour.

Likewise, a total of 24,792 people sent their vote on the examination, out of which 22,328 voted against and 2,464 voted in favour of the examination.
