All Tripura Government Doctors’ Association on June 17th, 2020, demanded the authorities to shift all the asymptomatic patients to Bhagat Singh COVID-19 treatment centre for the smooth functioning of the hospital. In a letter to the Directorate of Health Services, the doctors’ body also brought into notice the lapses and irregularities being reported by on-duty doctors at Bhagat Singh COVID-19 treatment centre. 

 “In the dedicated COVID-19 centre of AGMC & GBP Hospital, the maximum numbers of Corona infected patients are asymptomatic. In this tertiary centre, we are not supposed to keep asymptomatic patients according to ICMR guidelines. This extra load on the hospital, seriously hampering treatment of other general and serious patients, the teaching and research works of the Medical College and hospital”, the letter reads.

Urging the authorities the letter further added, “AGMC & GBP hospital is also assigned with the duty of supervising Bhagat Singh Could centre. Therefore, shifting of asymptomatic patients from GBP hospital is very much needed for the smooth and efficient running of the Institution” 

About the cleaniless issue it said, “It has been noticed that In Bhagat Singh Covid centre, cleanliness is not at all maintained. In such an institution, dumping of waste materials in proper place and cleaning of the centre is a matter of high priorityBut sorry to say that things ore going out of hand. Maintainence of hygiene and cleanliness should be properly and effectively ensured. Food quality was always a matter of concern in could centers”.

The doctors’ body also included in the letter, “Various discussions and positive effort by the authority has Improved the food quality of AGMC & GBP Hospital Covid Centre and Geetanjali quarantine centre. But about Bhagat Singh Covid centre, there is still hue and cry regarding food and the quality is yet to be improved. Kindly go through the above discussed points”.
