Tripura extends night curfew from today, looks for a ban on inter-state movement

AGARTALA: The Tripura Government has announced a restriction on inter-state movement of six days as well as has extended the ongoing night curfew from today to contain the surge in COVID-19 cases.

Tripura state education minister Ratanlal Nath informed while speaking with the press that the ministers’ council have made a decision to put a ban on inter-state movement from May 20 to May 26.

It was also decided by the Tripura government that the state extend the ongoing night curfews in urban areas from Wednesday itself, effective from 6 pm to 5 am for the next eight days.

According to the government officials, the total positivity rate of Tripura is at 6.92 per cent.

District-wise coronavirus positivity rates are — the highest 11.22 percent positivity rate was found in the West District, followed by 7.92 percent in Unakoti, 5.59 percent in Khowai, 4.97 percent in Sepahijala, 4.75 percent in Gomati, 4.47 in Dhalai, 4.12 percent in the South District and the lowest 3.56 per cent in North Tripura district.
