Tripura: Gross COVID-19 negligence raised by Pradyot Manikya amid death of elderly

Tripura apex body TIPRA’s Chief Pradyot Manikya shared images of gross irregularities in GB Pant Hospital where images were sent to him a relative of a deceased patient.

He tweeted, “disturbing pic was sent to me by the granddaughter of a COVID patient who passed away at the GB Hospital. I personally spoke to her and it is shocking to hear that the family has gone through a lot of pain. I am requesting the State Govt to please investigate this matter”.

He further said that “The biggest irony is that she was cremated in a bag and after her cremation the report came that she was negative . This delay did not even give her a dignified cremation in the end . I again request the state govt to investigate the matter”.

Earlier, the BJP-led Tripura government has initiated a magisterial inquiry against its own MLA and axed health minister Sudip Roy Barman for entering in a COVID care center set up in Shahid Bhagat Singh Youth Hostel allegedly without ‘unauthorizedly’.
