Agartala, March 11, 2020:

Bangladesh authorities have banned the entry of an Indian national hailing from Tripura in suspicion of Coronavirus (COVID-19) based on the initial infrared thermometer checkup.

The person, identified as Subhash Sarkar (30) of Madhya Bhubanbon area in West Tripura District, was pushed back after he crossed the border through the Akhaura ICP.

Sources said, as the person crossed the border, health personnel of Bangladesh carried out the initial checkup of the person, following which they found that the person had a high temperature and was physically unwell. Considering his condition, they stopped him from entering Bangladesh. They put a mask on him and sent him back to Tripura state capital Agartala, the source added.
