Tripura reports five new COVID-19 cases, count stands at 318

Five people have been tested positive for COVID-19 in Tripura taking the total to 318 on June 1st, 2020.

A total of 444 samples were tested; of which these five people have been found positive for COVID-19.

Informing this Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb, who also holds Health portfolio, tweeted:

Of the total 318 cases, 145 are active while 173 have been cured or discharged so far.

On May 31st, 2020, a total of 11 persons have been tested positive for novel coronavirus in Tripura.  All the patients have returned from Chennai recently, CM Deb said. “810 samples have been tested for COVID-19 in Tripura since last night, out of which 11 people found POSITIVE,” Deb added.

Tripura and Northeast

Tripura has the second-highest COVID-19 cases in the Northeast. The COVID-19 has infected a total of 1361 people and claimed four lives in Assam while Tripura has registered 318 cases followed by 43 in Nagaland.

India cases so far

The novel coronavirus has infected over 1.9 lakh people and claimed over 5394 lives as on June 1st, 2020, morning, according to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. There are 93322 active cases with 91819 cases discharged and cured.

Among the states, Maharashtra is the first state to cross 2 thousand deaths. It has recorded 67655 corona cases with 29329 cured and 2286 deaths. The western state is followed by Gujarat and Tamil Nadu. Gujarat has corona 16779 cases with 9919 cured and 1038 deaths. Tamil Nadu has registered 22333 cases with 12757 cured and 173 deaths. The National Capital with 19844 COVID-19 cases has crossed the 10 thousand mark on May 25th, 2020. So far, 8478 have been cured in Delhi with 473 deaths.
