AGARTALA: Due to the high demand from devotees based out of various parts of the region, Tripura Sundari Temple trust has decided to begin offering Prasad online.
According to Hindu mythology, this 521-year-old shrine is one of the 51 Shakti Pithas and attracts large crowds during the Diwali period when the annual festival and fair takes place.
More than 2.5 lakh devotees gathered at the temple on the occasion of Diwali earlier this year, according to reports from the temple’s Gomati District Administration.
Around the year, millions of people come here and request that the temple trust make arrangements for Prasad’s online delivery.
Advance D technology, a privately held corporation, has been granted the responsibility to deliver Prasad according to the online orders.The temple, which is 55 kilometers from Agartala, has established itself as a premier tourist destination for both domestic and international visitors.
The holy shrine is also known for its famous lake Kalyan Sagar, which is a conservation area for rare Bostami turtles (Black Soft Shell turtles).
The shrine is said to have been built over a hillock that looks like a tortoise, and the holy tortoises have been living in the Kalyan Sagar lake since the temple was built in 1501.
