NEW DELHI: As many as two bodies have been recovered so far after a massive fire broke out at the Krishna Hotel in Delhi’s Dwarka this morning.

Meanwhile, several people are trapped inside at the time of filing this report.

The fire incident took place around 7.25 am.

A total of eight fire tenders were dispatched to the scene to douse the fire.

In the two hours of firefighting, two deaths were reported from the spot. The rescue attempts continue.

According to the Dwarka South Police Station, they got a fire complaint this morning that several individuals were stuck within the hotel.

When Dwarka South police reached the scene after getting the call, they discovered that the facility was managed by Oyo Rooms.

When no hotel employees were located on the grounds, a forensic and criminal team was dispatched to the scene.

After extinguishing the fire, two bodies were found on the staircase of the ground floor.

According to reports, an eyewitness said that a short circuit occurred around midnight, and the electricity was restored after half an hour.

When he awoke around 7 am he discovered massive plumes of smoke within the hotel, as well as a fire on the ground floor and

reception area.
