MARGHERITA: Two Full grown pachyderm was rescued from in Tinsukia district of Assam yesterday morning.

The pachyderms were rescued from a Wetland situated at Makumqilla Maiki Wetland under Margherita West Range forest office of Digboi Forest Division.

According to Forest Department officials, two full-grown male and female pachyderms were struck at a wetland on Tuesday night as they went in search of food.

The pachyderm screamed after being struck in the Bogland, while the nearby villagers informed Margherita West Range forest office staff.

The full-grown pachyderm was rescued by Margherita West Range forest office workers Achyut Gogoi, Raju Rajkonwar, Dilip Saikia, and locals of Makumqilla Maiki Wetland over the duration of more than 6 hours on Wednesday morning.

T C Ranjith Ram (IFS) Divisional Forest officer of Digboi Forest Division visited the spot and applauded Margherita West Range forest office staffs for rescuing the Pachyderm.

Meanwhile, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma took to Twitter and highly applauded Margherita West Range forest office staffs for rescuing both the pachyderm.
