United Democratic adopts 4point resolution to bring Naga political issue to it's conclusion

KOHIMA: The United Democratic Alliance held its very first official meeting on Tuesday at the Chief Minister’s Residence where the house adopted 4-point resolution on the ongoing Naga Peace Talks.

KOHIMA: The United Democratic Alliance held its very first official meeting on Tuesday at the Chief Minister’s Residence where the house adopted 4-point resolution on the ongoing Naga Peace Talks.

The house appreciated “the serious commitment of the Government of India towards the Indo-Naga peace process, and welcomed the positive steps taken by the GoI on matters to the ongoing Indo-Naga political dialogue which include the appointment of a single person as interlocutor with all the negotiating parties.”

The house has also appreciated resumption of talks and the decision of the Naga political groups to resume the peace process by proceeding to New Delhi for continuation of the negotiating process.

The government further urged the parties to respond to the people and bring the protacted Indo-Naga political issue to its logical conclusion as the earliest.

The UDA resolved to every possible effort to play the role of active facilitator towards the peace process and the ongoing negotiations.

The House also addressed the ongoing issue of the state- the relocation of Dimapur Deputy Commissioner’s office to Chümoukedima.

It was also informed that the a corrigendum will be issued on the matter.
