GUWAHATI: Paresh Baruah, commandar-in-chief, The United Liberation Front of Asom (Independent) has put forward a few demands to Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC), Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL) and Oil India Limited (OIL), the three major industries of Assam, in a released notification today.
In the notification, Paresh Baruah has foremostly demanded a correct data on how many assets have they taken from Assam to date and in return what the state has received.
Also Paresh Baruah has very strongly demanded the companies to hire locals. He also ordered to conduct every recruitment examination for the companies in Assam itself and 95% of the vacancies should be reserved for the locals. Contractual recruitment must stop he mentioned.
The ULFA (I) commandar also mentioned that a certain circle of miscreants is connected to the process of their recruitment, who take bribe against a vacant post and around 80% of the recruitments have been done in such a way. Baruah has demanded for transparency in the recruitment process and to exterminate such corrupted third parties.
Baruah has also made sure that the people of Assam become the direct beneficiaries of its natural assests and demanded these oil and gas corporations to provide LPG to the rural areas through pipes.
Most importantly, Paresh Baruah has demanded a sum of Rs 5 crore from each of the companies for the infrastructural development of Assam as well as for the one’s affected by flood every year instead of making donations to certain organisations of Assam to celebrate festivals.
By the end of his released notification, Baruah warned if these three companies failed to deliver on any of the demands then ULFA (I) would have no option but to start
of the demands could keep ULFA (I) away from doing so for an indefinite period of time.
