ULFA (I) releases videos; abducted Quippo employees urge Assam & Bihar CMs for help

GUWAHATI: The two employees of M/s Quippo Oil and Gas Infrastructure Limited who were abducted by the United Liberation Front of Axom (Independent) or (ULFA-I) have appealed the Assam and Bihar chief ministers' intervention in rescuing them.

Pranab Kumar Gogoi (51), drilling superintendent and radio operator Ram Kumar (35), kidnapped by the militant outfits from Kumchaikha hydrocarbon drilling site in Changlang district of Arunachal Pradesh on December 20, have been held captive by the ULFA and NSCN for nearly a month now.

According to eyewitnesses, a group of around 10-15 militants picked up the two employees of the company (M/s Quippo Oil and Gas) and headed towards Balipather village on foot in the direction of Diyun town.

Ram Kumar from Bihar urged Chief Minister Nitish Kumar to raise the matter with Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal.

The ULFA (I) has released two videos in which the two employees can be seen urging the chief ministers of Assam and Bihar chief ministers to intervene and save their lives.

“I have been held captive for almost a month now. I urge Bihar CM Nitish Kumar to speak with Assam Chief Minister for my safe return,” he was seen saying in video.

“Since our company has done nothing for our release, I would like to request chief minister Sarbananda Sonowal to kindly make arrangements for my safe return home," Gogoi said in the video clip.

The ULFA (I) has demanded of Rs. 10 crores for the release of the two abducted Quippo employees.
