Ahmedabad, February 24, 2020:

Taking a leaf out of his predecessor Barack Obama's handbook, United States President Donald J Trump on Monday referred to immortal Bollywood classic Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge (DDLJ for short) during his speech, sending the audience is wild applause.

Addressing a mass gathering at the world's largest stadium, Motera, the US President said that Indian Film Industry has given many classic movies and cited Dilwale Dulhania.. as an example, which drew raucous applause from the crowd.

Trump's mention of DDLJ is reminiscent of former US President Barack Obama's India visit in 2015, when the latter enthralled the Siri Fort auditorium with "Badi badi deshon mein... you know what I mean." Obama made the comment while attending Republic Day celebrations in New Delhi.

It may be mentioned here that DDLJ, which is an all-time blockbuster in the Indian box-office, is well renowned overseas for its infectious songs and classic scenes that depicts 'King Khan' romancing ladylove Kajol in mustard fields. The film cemented SRK's stardom both in India and overseas and to this day, the megastar's films are appreciated by a transnational audience. Before Priyanka Chopra's ascension to the rank of "Hollywood diva", Shah Rakh was oft-regarded as the one true global superstar hailing from India.
