ITANAGAR: Great news for Northeast India’s cineastes as Bollywood superstars Varun Dhawan and Kriti Sanon will be shooting for Amar Kaushik’s ‘Bhediya’ in picturesque Arunachal Pradesh.
Varun Dhawan, who recently got married, is excited to work with the maverick director and he was extremely impressed with his last film, ‘Stree‘, he said.
An official announcement of the film will be made soon and the film will hit theatres later this year.
The makers of the film have already chosen some locations in Arunachal for the shooting, reports said. According to reports, Bhediya’s shoot will go on till May.
It is to be mentioned here that Amar Kaushik, acclaimed Bollywood director, grew up in Medo, Arunachal Pradesh, where his father was a forest ranger who worked for the Indian Forest Service (IFS) and his mother Shashi was a school teacher.
Bhediya is the third horror film produced by Maddock Films. The production house had earlier produced Amar Kaushik’s ‘Stree’ as well as Rajkummar Rao and Janhvi Kapoor’s ‘Roohi‘ in the same genre. With these films, Dinesh Vijan of Maddock Film is aiming at creating a horror-comedy sub-genre in Bollywood.
‘Bhediya’ is a film in the same genre and Varun Dhawan will be seen in the role of a monster. This is the first time Varun will be seen in a horror film.
