GUWAHATI: After being warned of legal consequences by Assam health minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, popular singer Zubeen Garg winded up his Bihu stage performance before 11 pm on Thursday.

At a Bihu function organised at Gandhi Maidan in Bongaigaon, heartthrob Zubeen started his performance at 8.45 pm and left the stage exactly at 10.59 pm, a minute ahead of the deadline to wind up stage shows.

On the other hand, singer Bipin Chawdang also wrapped up his stage show at 11.15 pm last night.

Singer and actor Deeplina Deka, also known as Pori, winded up her stage performance at 11.25 pm at a show in Hajo.

Singer Neel Akash packed up his show at 11.30 pm at a show in Kharghuli here. Although the administration has 11 pm deadline, Sarma yesterday said it could be considered up to 11.30 pm.

However, a few artistes allegedly violated the government ‘SOP’ by performing till past midnight.

Singer Priyanka Bharali, who is popular for her melodious voice, allegedly performed till 1 am, at a Bihu function organised at Pandu in the city.

Singer Gitanjali Das also allegedly performed till 12 midnight at a stage show in Noonmati here.

Popular singer and youth sensation Achurjya Borpatra also allegedly performed till 11.55 pm at a Bihu function in Boragaon here.

It needs mention here that Zubeen and Chawdang on Wednesday had allegedly performed at their Bihu programmes at Kharghuli and Latasil ground here past 11 pm.
