BAJALI: Amid the fever of By-polls in Assam, Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Sunday said that if the BJP-led Mitrajut is given 5 more years, he will bring back the dwindling Sanatan culture back in the state.

While addressing the crowd at Bhabanipur, the Chief Minisiter said, "If given another 5 years, the places in which the chants of Ram-Krishna-Shiva were disappearing, we will bring back that 'Sanatan' culture where paeans will be sung and the flag of victory will be unfurled".

He added that communal issues are popping up in every corner of the state.

"You can very well see that how we have lost all our land, property, thinking, community etc in the lower Assam areas especially in Bajali, Bilasipara etc. We have lost lands for our satras.. we have lost our identities. Yet we have not been able to live with unity. We have been selling off our lands in Barpeta, Bingaigaon, Howli, Dhubri gradually and making way to Guwahati. We are giving off our own lands to others.", he added.

'And finally, the election environment has returned to this constituency", he said.

"In the last polls, we couldn't win... but after 5 months we have gor the opportunity once again to march towards the path of progress and to create a new environment for the Bhabanipur constituency with the BJP led Mitrajut", he added urging people to vote for the Mitrajut.

Taking a jibe at UDF, he said that UDF leaders have been winning the seats in the constituency due the lack of unity among ourselves.

"Whenever we give importance to narrow-mindedness, that's when parties like UDF get the opportunity to seep in and emerge as winner", he added.
