Won't allow 'poisonous' Congress and AIUDF to come to power, says Assam CM Sonowal

GUWAHATI: Assam Chief minister Sarbananda Sonowal today took to Twitter to announce that the Congress and Badruddin Ajmal's All India United Democratic Front (AIUDF) are the "main enemies" of Assam.

The chief minister said that the BJP-led alliance will not allow these poisonous powers to run our government.

“Come whatever sacrifice or hardship, we will defeat these enemies of Assam,” he added.

“Congress and Badruddin Ajmal's AIUDF is the main enemy of Assam. We will not allow these poisonous powers to run our Govt. Come whatever sacrifice or hardship, we will defeat these enemies of Assam,” his tweet read.

CM Sonowal further said that these two parties has been trying to destroy the Assamese nationalists in the state with deep conspiracy, and so we have to defeat them, adding that he asked the public whether the public can defeat these enemies or not.

The Congress led grand alliance or ‘Mahajath’ comprises the Assam Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC), All India United Democratic Front (AIUDF), Communist Party of India (CPI), the Communist Party of India (Marxist) or CPI (M), the Communist Party of India (Marxist Leninist) Liberation or CPI(ML), and the Anchalik Gana Marcha (AGM).

The Bodoland Peoples’ Front (BPF) has also broken away from the BJP-led alliance to join the ‘Mahajath’.
