Guwahati, April 2, 2019:

Rahul Gandhi, the President of the Congress party has presented the Congress party’s 2019 Manifesto titled ‘Congress will deliver’ on Tuesday for the ensuing Lok Sabha elections.

RaGa (as the Congress leader is popularly known) made promises to the ailing farming community of the country. Rahul suggested a separate budget for farmers, a ‘Kisan Budget’ akin to the ‘railway budget’ wherein everything is made clear to them.

Secondly, he said: “Affluent people take loans and go absconding. But if poor farmers are unable to repay the loans, they are put in jail and their crime is given a ‘criminal’ offence status. I want this to be changed so that it is registered as a 'civil offence'.

Moreover, Rahul also promised that 6% of the country’s GST will be used for education.

Rahul also alleged that the Narendra Modi-led NDA Government is distributing money to the rich in the name of healthcare. “In healthcare, taking money from citizens and putting it in money of a few businessmen”, he said.

“You have seen how terror casualties are increasing in Kashmir ever since Modi came to power. The BJP is spreading hatred, but the Congress will unite the country”, he added.

"This is not a manifesto made in closed rooms. NYAY, jobs, and farmers are among our focal points. NYAY will help the economy. We will deliver money to the poorest people in the country”, Rahul said.

Rahul Gandhi has said the Congress' election manifesto has been drafted following extensive nationwide consultations and will be a very "powerful" document aimed at redressing key challenges facing the nation.
