Ya ba Tablets Worth Rs 75 Lakh Seized in Manipur

Tengnoupal, September 15, 2019:

A huge consignment of Ya ba drugs has yet again been seized by a team of Manipur Police. On Saturday, a team of Tengnoupal Police led by S.L. Kamkhohao MPS, DSP-HQ TPL assisted by S.I. Ashem Biren Singh of Tengnoupal Police Station, under the supervision of Th. Vikramjit Singh MPS, SP TPL conducted frisking and checking on NH-102 at Tengnoupal Police gate at around 8:20 pm.

The team, while frisking one chevrolet Optra car bearing Reg.no MN01S-8395 travelling from Pallel towards Moreh, found 3 packets containing approximately 30,000 of suspected contraband Ya ba tablets.

The price of the suspected contraband tablets ceased in the international market is approximately Rs. 75 lakh.

The suspected contraband WY tablets were seized and the two occupants, namely Satkholal Mate (24) and Hoineijou Gangte (20), were arrested. The case has been handed over to Tengnoupal Police Station.

Yaba, otherwise known as the madness drug or Nazi speed, is a combination of a number of stimulants. The two main substances that make up the drug are caffeine and methamphetamine, otherwise known as crystal meth. Yaba is a drug in tablet form, and it is most often red in color with the letters WY imprinted on it.
