NEW DELHI: India all-rounder Yusuf Pathan announced his retirement from all formats of cricket today.

Pathan was a part of 2007 T20 and 2011 50-over World Cup-winning squads.

“I thank my family, friends, fans, teams, coaches, and the whole country wholeheartedly for all the support and love. #retirement,” Pathan wrote on Twitter.

Pathan throughout his career played for Baroda in domestic cricket. With Kolkata Knight Riders and Rajasthan Royals, he had some highly competitive seasons in the Indian Premier League (IPL).

Pathan was the first cricketer to win three IPL trophies. He has played 174 matches in the IPL.

In the IPL 2010 season against Mumbai Indians, the 37-ball century of Yusuf Pathan is still the second-fastest in the history of the tournament and the fastest among Indians.

In the upcoming Road Safety World Series exhibition, Yusuf Pathan is set to represent India Legends, where he will play alongside former teammates such as Sachin Tendulkar, Virender Sehwag, Yuvraj Singh, Zaheer Khan, Ajit Agarkar, and his brother Irfan Pathan for the Indian side.
