4 children from the same family buried alive in Aizawl landslide

AIZAWL: In a tragic incident reported from Mizoram, 4 children -- all from the same family -- were buried alive as heavy rain triggered landslides in the Thuampui area of Aizawl on Friday night. Two persons also received severe injuries and their house was also badly damaged by the Aizawl landslide.

The incident occurred after a wall at a construction site collapsed due to the ongoing onslaught of rain which has been going on since Friday evening.

A pile of rock rolled down along with mud and slush and completely damaged the house of a certain Lalbiakzuala (75).

Although Lalbiakzuala and another family member survived with injuries, 4 children of the family passed away.

The deceased persons have been identified as Lalthlamuani (16), Joseph Lalrinhlua (5), Daniel Lalngaihsaka (3), Laltanpuii (16).

It needs mention here that the landslide affected area falls under the Constituency of Mizoram chief minister Zoramthanga who has assured to give relief and rehabilitation for the family.
