GUWAHATI: Amid reports of Bodoland People's Front (BPF) led by Hagrama Mohilary pulling out of the Grand Alliance with Assam Congress, party president Bhupen Borah has said Congress is not sure about the stand of BPF regarding this.

Referring to a news report that said that BPF has come out of the alliance, the Congress President said, “I dint say to anyone that BPF is not with us anymore. I said I don’t know what their present stand on the Grand Alliance is. I am not sure what they are thinking.”

Notably BPF Chief Hagrama Mohilary has been in discussion with Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma for making an arrangement for ‘secret ballot’ voting during the floor test in the Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC) to prove the party’s majority. In the last BTC polls, BPF emerged as the single largest party by winning the majority of seats. It is speculated that  the BPF leader might join an alliance with BJP for retaining power in Bodoland Territorial Region once again.

“ We might not be a part of the grand alliance, but we are not sure till we discuss this with our leaders,” said Bhupen Borah.
