Assam govt to provide 100% free power supply to newly constructed oxygen plants

GUWAHATI: The Assam government has announced today that they will supply 100 per cent free power supply to newly set up oxygen plants of Assam to avoid a possible crisis in oxygen supply.

In the cabinet meeting held today the Himanta Biswa Sarma-led new Assam government had also decided to supply 100 per cent free power supply to closed oxygen plants that wanted to resume operations and to the new units of existing plants.

The cabinet had taken a few more important decision as such --

1) CEM BTR, CEM Karbi Anglong & CEM Dima Hasao will be accorded Cabinet Status.

2) The nomenclature of the i/c minister would be changed to the Guardian Minister who would take responsibility for their respective districts.

3) Cabinet decided to appoint Debojit Saikia as the new Advocate General of Assam.

A committee has been set up under the chairpersonship of Finance Minister Ajanta Neog in its first cabinet meeting to take firm steps in terms of planning employment for 1 lakh youth of Assam.

Pijush Hazarika, the Information & Public Relation minister, and health minister Keshab Mahanta had been chosen as the cabinet’s spokespersons.
