Assam reports 1,879 COVID-19 cases, state tally rises to 92,619

Assam reported 1,879 new coronavirus cases on Monday 24th August 2020, the state Health Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma informed. Since the first coronavirus case was detected, Assam has registered 92,619 cases.

A total of 28670 tests were conducted in the last 24 hours. The positivity rate stood at 6.55 percent. Of the 1,879 confirmed cases, maximum cases were from Kamrup M- 471; Dibrugarh- 143; Jorhat- 138; and Cachar- 133 . Of the 92,619 confirmed cases, 21464 are still active and 70900 have recovered from the disease.

The Health Minister informed, “On Alert ~  1879 #COVID cases detected today out of 28670 tests done in last 24 hours

On the other hand, a total of 73,090 patients have so far discharged from different hospitals in the state.

2190 patients discharged today.

Gratifying that number of recovered patients in Assam is more than 3.5 times the number of active patients.

Meanwhile, the death toll has gone up to 252 with ten new deaths.
