Assam tallies 1651 fresh COVID cases in 24 hours; active cases go up to 7685

GUWAHATI: Assam currently has 7685 active cases with 1651 cases reported in the state over the past 24 hours, with this the total number of cases in the state stands at 227473

COVID-19 has claimed as many as three lives in the state yesterday. With this, the death toll has reached 1145.

Out of total fresh cases, Kamrup metro alone detected 742 cases, while Kamrup rural and Dibrugarh district has reported 90 cases each, and 82 cases were reported in Sonitpur district.

A total of 279 people infected with the virus were discharged.

“Summary of 20/4/2021 Today’s Total 1651 Overall Positivity Percentage (1651 cases out of 67151 test done = 2.46%) Kamrup(M) 742,” state health minister Himanta Biswa Sarma tweeted.
