Assam woman dies of COVID-19 in Delhi

A 36-year-old woman from Lakhimpur district in Assam succumbed to COVID-19 on June 17th, 2020 at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi.

The deceased has been identified as Sania Deori of Narayanpur in Lakhimpur district. Seven days ago she showed symptoms of COVID19.

As per information, she was first admitted to two private hospitals due to the unavailability of beds in a government hospital. Both private hospitals failed to carry the required tests. Later on June 15th, 2020, she was admitted to AIIMS.

Assam has recorded highest COVID-19 cases in Northeast India with a total of 4694 confirmed cases; of which 2041 are active cases and 2642 have been cured and discharged while eight died due to the infection in the state so far. The state has crossed the 1000-mark in 60 days. It reported the first case on March 31st, 2020

India has crossed 2 lakh-mark in terms of corona positives on June 3rd. As on June 17th, the country currently has 366K confirmed COVID-19 cases, 160384 active cases with 194325 cured and discharged. The total number of deaths is 12237.

Among the states, Maharashtra is the first state to cross 3 thousand deaths. It has recorded 116752 corona cases with 59166 cured, 5651 deaths, and 51935 active cases. The western state is followed by Delhi and Tamil Nadu. Delhi has corona 47102 cases with 17457 cured, 1904 deaths, and 27741 active cases. Tamil Nadu has 50193 positive cases with 27624 cured, 576 deaths 21993 active cases. Gujarat with 25093 COVID-19 cases, so far, has 17430 have been cured, 1560 deaths, and 6103 active cases.
