The Assam –Nagaland border issue is more than six decades old. Assam shares a boundary of 434 km with Nagaland.
Right after the Assam-Mizoram border violence on July 26, both the states signed a MoU to withdraw state’s forces from borer locations to de-escalation of tension.
Both the states agreed upon using UAVs and satellite imagery to keep a watch on incursions across the disputed boundary between the states and maintain the status quo.
