Rahul Gandhi to address election campaign rally in Haflong on March 30

HAFLONG: Rahul Gandhi, the vice-president of the Indian National Congress, shall be arriving in Haflong on March 30 to address an election rally at the DSA playground. In the rally, Gandhi will be campaigning for Nirmal Langthasa, the party's candidate from Haflong.

On March 31, Gandhi will address an election rally at Pritipur Milanpathar sports club field that falls under the Chaygaon Assembly Constituency.

Rekibuddin Ahmed, the sitting Congress MLA, yesterday evening declared that more than one lakh people will be in attendance during Gandhi’s upcoming rally.

Earlier, the Congress leader had visited Assam multiple times in the lead-up to the elections in the state.

During a rally in Dibrugarh’s Dinjoy region earlier this month, Gandhi made five promises to the citizens including Rupees 365 daily for tea workers and not implementing the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA).

The former Congress chief also promised five lakh jobs, 200 free units of electricity and Rupees 2,000 to housewives in Assam if his party wins the election.
