Sikkim: Preparatory meeting held ahead of Defence Minister’s visit

Gangtok: A preparatory meeting was held at the Tashiling Secretariat on Saturday ahead of the visit of the Defence Minister Rajnath Singh to Sikkim.

The meeting was chaired by the Chief Secretary of the state S.C.

R. Telang Principal Secretary, Home Department in his preliminary remark briefed the gathering about the arrangement and tour details of the Defence Minister.

In the discussion, the Chief Secretary stated that Doordarshan would handle reporting and media coverage as per the instructions of the Central Government and the Department of Information and Public Relations would provide the same for the State.

He also requested that the communication between the army and the state administration be limpidly clear for the programme and that there should be no ambiguity.

The Thakurbari Mandir Committee gave details of the inauguration of the temple while the Health Department assured emergency medical facilities.
