One of the favourite destinations of tourists in Sikkim, Lachung has decided to sit out the state government's move to reopen the state for tourism. The state government had recently issued SOPs for Tourism Unlock 1.0, and tourism stakeholders in Lachung could easily have remained closed by not registering on the "crowd sourcing portal" that the department has made mandatory for tourism businesses to operate.

Today, the Lachung Dzumsa convened an emergency meeting with tourism stakeholders and after consultation, decided that no tourists will be allowed to enter areas under the jurisdiction on Lachung Dzumsa till 30 November.
