India reports 979 COVID-19 deaths 46,148 new cases over 24 hours

NEW DELHI: India in the past 24 hours, reported 46,148 new cases of COVID-19 pushing the country's COVID tally to 3,02,79,331.

On the other hand, 979 deaths were reported due to the infection, with the new fatalities India's death toll due to COVID  stands at 3,96,730.

Meanwhile, for the 46th day in a row, daily recoveries have outnumbered daily new cases, with 58,578 recoveries in the last 24 hours, bringing the active caseload down to 5,72,994.

The recovery rate of India now stands at 96.80%.

So far, 32.36 crore vaccine doses have been administered as part of the country's vaccination campaign.

In the last 24 hours, 17.21 lakh doses have been provided.

According to the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), 40,63,71,279 samples have been tested for the infection so far.
