Mizoram records 29 new COVID-19 positive cases; 28 in Aizwal alone

AIZAWL: Mizoram has reported at least 29 fresh COVID-19 cases today pushing the tally to 4,612.

The 29 cases also includes three children and a CRPF employee.

Among the 29 cases, 28 were reported from Aizawl and one from Mamit district.

According to reports, eight new patients have a travel history, four were discovered through contact tracing, and the remaining 17 individuals have yet to be determined how they developed the disease.

There are currently 143 active cases in Mizoram, with 4,458 people recovering from the infection and 11 people died.

In the northeastern state, the recovery rate for coronavirus patients is currently at 96.66 %.

The state has so far tested 2,62,310 samples including 1,582 on Saturday, with a 1.76 percent positivity rate.

Until Saturday, 70,523 people had received the first dose of COVID-19 vaccine, including 21,137 senior citizens, according to state immunisation officer Dr Lalzawmi.
