NEW DELHI: The price of petrol was reduced by 18 paise per litre and the price of diesel was reduced by 17 paise per litre today for the first time in over a year.

The last time prices were slashed was on March 16, 2020.

This is the first time in over a year that the price of petrol and diesel has dropped.

According to a price notification from state-owned fuel retailers, the price of petrol in Delhi has been reduced to Rs 90.99 per litre from Rs 91.17 per litre today.

In the national capital, diesel now costs Rs 81.30 per litre, down from Rs 81.47 earlier.

Rates have been reduced across the country, but they vary by state, depending on the local incidence of taxation (VAT).
