ULFA chief Paresh Baruah announces one sided ceasefire for 3 months

GUWAHATI: Paresh Baruah, United Liberation Front of Asom Independent (ULFA-I) commander-in-chief , has announced one sided ceasefire today said that the organisation will halt their arm expeditions for next the three months.

In an issued statement, Paresh Baruah stated that a certain section of people including a few police officials are conspiring continuously against the ULFA (I) and trying to put them in a bad light, specially at a time when whole man kind is in the edge of emergency.

Hence, ULFA (I) had decided to halt their arms and ammunition expeditions for three months, effective from today itself.

Recently, ULFA (I) has been making headlines for abducting two Quippo employees in December last year and this year three employees from ONGC.

In the light of that, recently two back to back grenade blasts took place in the Tinsukia district of Assam, where two persons lost lives including a minor, of which dots were connected to ULFA (I) immediately.

ULFA (I) had withdrawn the allegations of their involvement in two grenade blasts by releasing a statement yesterday and hence today decided to halt their arm expedition for another three months since Assam is already fighting a big battle against COVID-19.
